EMF in Your Home: What You Need to Know

Electromagnetic fields (EMF) are present in our daily lives, and they can be found in various household appliances and electronic devices. Although EMF is considered harmless in small doses, long-term exposure to high levels of EMF can have adverse effects on our health. In this article, we will explore what EMF is, the sources of EMF in the home, and how to minimize exposure to EMF.

What is EMF?

  2. Wireless devices: Wireless devices such as cell phones, Wi-Fi routers, and Bluetooth devices produce EMF.
  3. Power lines: High-voltage power lines near your home can also produce EMF.
  4. Household items: Items such as hair dryers, electric shavers, and electric blankets can produce EMF.

The Effects of EMF on Health EMF exposure has been linked to a variety of health problems, including headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and difficulty sleeping. Long-term exposure to high levels of EMF has also been linked to more serious health problems, including cancer and other chronic diseases.

How to Minimize Exposure to EMF There are several ways to minimize your exposure to EMF in the home. Here are some tips to help you reduce your exposure:

  1. Limit your use of wireless devices: When possible, use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi, and limit your use of cell phones.
  2. Turn off appliances when not in use: Turn off appliances such as televisions, computers, and other electronic devices when you are not using them.
  3. Create a distance between you and the source of EMF: Keep a distance between you and the source of EMF, especially when you are using a cell phone, Wi-Fi router, or other wireless device.
  4. Use grounding mats: Grounding mats can help reduce your exposure to EMF by releasing the excess charge from your body.

  4. Turn off devices at night: When you go to sleep, turn off all the devices in your bedroom, including your cell phone and Wi-Fi router. This will give your body a break from EMF exposure and help you sleep better.
  5. Create a low-EMF environment: If possible, try to create a low-EMF environment in your home. This means minimizing the number of devices that emit EMFs and keeping them away from your living spaces.

While the research on the health effects of EMFs is still inconclusive, it is always better to err on the side of caution. By taking these simple steps to protect yourself from EMF exposure, you can reduce your risk of potential harm and stay healthy.

Through our partnership with the Folsom History Museum we have a special Valentines Day offer. We settle for the same Valentines Day experience every year when you can join us for an evening of celebrating love her and in the hereafter!

Northern California Amateur Paranormal Society(NORCAPS) is partnering with Folsom History Museum for a unique Valentine’s Day experience. We’ll begin with chocolates and a champagne toast in the historic Wells Fargo building, then we will make our way through Folsom’s Historic District with stories of romance from the past. At The Square, we will conduct a paranormal investigation, attempting to contact voices from the beyond.
