From an early age, Ryan developed a keen interest in the paranormal, prompted by personal experiences including witnessing full-body apparitions and other unexplained events. Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, during which time he traveled extensively and gained exposure to diverse cultures.
After completing his military service, Ryan embarked on a career in software development and now serves as the Director of Applications and Integrations for one of California’s largest health club organizations. In 2008, he formally established the Northern California Paranormal Society (Nor-C.A.P.S.), maintaining his enduring dedication to paranormal research.
Through Nor-C.A.P.S., Ryan made his initial visit to Preston Castle in Ione, subsequently volunteering as both a historical and paranormal docent. He has coordinated paranormal tours and conferences to support fundraising efforts for historic sites and museums. Notably, Ryan participated in the premiere episode of "The Lowe Files" (2017), filmed at Preston Castle, and has presented at various paranormal conferences and to academic audiences, including a forensic history class at Sacramento State University.
As a Paranormal Investigator, Ryan maintains a stance of open skepticism, rigorously analyzing data and personal accounts before forming conclusions regarding claims of haunting.
